Collective Altar Building and Marigold Medicine
Description
Join us at Wild Foliage for a creative and meaningful collaborative practice. Together we will build a large community altar! We will work with marigold medicine (Tagetes) in the form of a Plant Spirit Spray and a plant-based dye. We will be hand-dying altar cloths and will each take home a special marigold spray and a cloth (after they are dry) to add to our personal altars, and continue to inspire our individual practices of altar creation, connection to memory,, and the incorporation of magic in our everyday lives and spaces. We will provide cloths for dyeing, the base for our altar, some flowers, crystals and other objects for us to play with in our arrangement. You will bring objects/art/photos/writing of your own that hold special meaning, energy, and/or that represent loved ones (including pets, etc!) who have passed. As we create, we will chat about the intuitive process of altar building, ways to craft this type of sacred space in your home (or elsewhere - there is no “proper” place or way to do it!), how to work with your altar as a tool to help with grounding, manifestation, to honor people and beings who have passed, and to seek comfort, clarity, and guidance in your life. We welcome altar-making novices and folks experienced in altar-building! When: Monday, November 2nd. 6pm to 8:30pm Where: Wild Foliage Studio 2632 SE 25th Ave STE. G Portland. OR Cost: $40 - Includes Marigold Plant Spirit Spray and altar cloths (which we will hand dye using marigold flower dye) Buzz suite G when you arrive. Someone will answer and let you in. Please arrive a few minutes early. We will have snacks and tea to share at the start, and will take about 15 minutes to settle into our places before we begin.
